Lyrics

I was holding hurt, letting it stay
But Your love came close and broke the chains
You showed me mercy when I had none
Now I’m learning how You call me to live

Kindness in my hands
Grace in my words
A softer heart
Where healing is heard

Be kind, be gentle
Forgive like You forgave me
Love that remembers
How mercy set me free
When the world says hold it in
Your voice says let it go
Be kind, be gentle
Let Your care be shown

When I’ve been wronged, I don’t want to fight
I want to show Your heart, Your peace, Your light
Teach me to meet people with open arms
To let Your kindness heal the hurt inside

Kindness in my hands
Grace in my words
A softer heart
Where healing is heard

Be kind, be gentle
Forgive like You forgave me
Love that remembers
How mercy set me free
When the world says hold it in
Your voice says let it go
Be kind, be gentle
Let Your care be shown

You forgave me first
You loved me first
So I can pass that love along
No bitterness
No walls remain
Your mercy leads me every day

Be kind, be gentle
Forgive like You forgave me
Love that remembers
How mercy set me free
When the world says hold it in
Your voice says let it go
Be kind, be gentle
Let Your care be shown
