Lyrics

If you’re tired and your load is heavy
If you’ve cried till you can’t cry more
If that old road left you empty
And you can’t go back no more
There’s a Savior down this highway
His arms stretched open wide
You don’t have to stay where you’ve been
You can come on home tonight

Come back to the light, come back alive
Lay that burden down, let mercy drive
Out of the dark, into the fire
Jesus pulls you closer, higher and higher
Come back to the light, come back to grace
You don’t have to run, you can find your place
Out of the shame, out of the fight
Come back to the light

If the devil kept you running
If the bottle stole your peace
If your name has been “sinner”
And your soul don’t feel clean
There’s a cross still standing there now
And it’s calling out your name
Jesus knows the road you’re on
And He can break those chains

Come back to the light, come back alive
Lay that burden down, let mercy drive
Out of the dark, into the fire
Jesus pulls you closer, higher and higher
Come back to the light, come back to grace
You don’t have to run, you can find your place
Out of the shame, out of the fight
Come back to the light

Oh, the broken can be mended
Oh, the captive can be free
Oh, the One who died and rose again
Is calling out to me

Come back to the light, come back alive
Lay that burden down, let mercy drive
Out of the dark, into the fire
Jesus pulls you closer, higher and higher
Come back to the light, come back to grace
You don’t have to run, you can find your place
Out of the shame, out of the fight
Come back to the light
